Keep Your New Year’s Resolution Alive! 4 Great Ways to Workout in Wellesley and Weston, MA.

Body In Motion

Body In Motion is making a move!  Across the street that is…  According to owner Mary Guarente, “The 2,000 square foot, gorgeous studio will allow us to offer more classes in BarSculpt™ and Pilates, and expanded one-on-one training for all offerings.” The highly trained instructors make the experience fun while educating you about your body. Pilates has always been a favorite of mine as it works the core and helps with flexibility. Recently, while visiting NYC, I tried a core fusion class that left me walking funny for three days. It was hard-core (no pun intended) but it was the type of pain that felt good (if such a thing exists). BarSculpt™ is the newest class to be offered at Body in Motion, and thus far it has been a big hit with the clientele. From what I hear, BarSculpt™ is very similar to core fusion. Be sure to check out the new studio at 180 Linden Street in Wellesley, MA (right above National Jean Company). The grand opening is January 24th!  To learn more about Body in Motion, click here.

Update: Body in Motion opened it’s doors on January 18th for present and past customers to see the new space and try out the classes. I attended the BarSculpt™ class this morning and learned a great deal about flexibility and muscle strength (okay, I realized that I had no flexibility or muscle strength).  In fact, my legs were shaking with each new workout position.  I spoke with the very knowledgeable instructor to ensure that there was a chance I could regain some flexibility.  With that said, the class was fun, interesting and extremely helpful.  I look forward to taking many more BarSculpt™ and Pilates classes at Body in Motion.

Weston Ski Track

Watching the beautiful snow come down always seems to get my ski “bug” going. If going to the gym is not your thing and you like to workout outside, then Weston Ski Track might be the place for you. Winter is a lot more tolerable when you enjoy it, not just deal with it! Blizzard outside? No problem. Break out your downhill skis, cross country skis, or your snow shoes and get to it. There are so many ways to survive the winter and actually enjoy it at the same time. Go off on your own or with friends or if you are so inclined, you can sign up for a ski or snow-shoe lesson. Fit For Haiti

Lastly, whether you are a fitness person or a couch potato, there is an event being held at Wellesley Boston Sports Club to raise money for the people of Haiti. It has been over a year since Haiti was devastated by an earthquake. This event will not only help people in need, it can also jumpstart your return to fitness. This fundraiser will be held on January 29, 2011 from 1-6 pm. Please click on the following link to get more details about Fit for Haiti.
